Audrey Ahern is a Dallas-based Catholic actress now playing the lead role in Thérèse: The Story of a Soul. At the age of 13, she chose St. Thérèse to be her Confirmation saint. She is delighted that, years later, St. Thérèse chose her for this production!
Audrey attended the University of Dallas, majoring in Drama. She also spent time studying abroad, where she directed a production of Medea in Rome. Additionally, she holds a Master of Fine Arts from West Virginia University. There, she was able to focus on areas of special interest, including Shakespeare and solo performance. Audrey brings a varied professional background to the role of St. Thérèse. Her resume includes roles in theater, film, and commercials. She has a special interest in the classics, though she has also appeared in two world premieres written by modern playwrights.
When she is not touring the country with Thérèse, Audrey enjoys reading, movies, travelling, singing karaoke, and spending time with family and friends. She is also involved with the young adult ministry in her parish, and she serves as an assistant Bible study leader.
Audrey believes that theater is a vital art form. This is especially true in our time, when we have forgotten how to be still, to communicate, and to listen to one another. She hopes that, through this production, audiences will enter into stillness and come to know how infinitely they are loved by God. She also hopes that those who see Thérèse will grow in spiritual childhood and the Little Way.
